aespa Fans Condemned After BoA Exposes The Excessive Hate She Received 

A recent video clip of BoA opening up about the backlash she faced for participating in GOT the Beat has sparked renewed criticism. And most of it is directed at aespa fans, MYs.

BoA appeared as a guest on Hyoyeon’s YouTube show, where she revealed that she was not only hesitant to join GOT the Beat but also initially turned it down several times. Despite her reluctance, BoA still went through with the project and ended up receiving intense hate, which she admitted was emotionally difficult.

After the video spread online, Korean netizens pointed fingers at aespa fans as the biggest source of the backlash BoA received at the time. Many believed the hate stemmed from fans of the rookie girl group wanting the members to focus on their own promotions rather than being tied to a completely different project.

Given BoA’s senior status at SM Entertainment, people also assumed she was the one who pushed for the group’s creation — a misunderstanding that further fueled the hate.
