Korean fans have been editing his parts out of the track and circulating the clipped versions online, essentially refusing to acknowledge his involvement.

Some have gone further, openly stating they won’t stream the song because of him. The move has visibly impacted “WDA” on Korean charts. International fans noticed the impact after “WDA” failed to debut above #63 on Melon’s main chart.

 

Whether it holds or climbs further will seemingly depend entirely on how the general public receives it.

The divide between Korean and international fans has been hard to ignore. International fans are frustrated, calling out the boycott as counterproductive.

For a song already dealing with mixed reviews, the internal fanbase drama is the last thing aespa needed going into their album rollout.
