New iPhone Ad Sparks Explosive Reactions In Korea Over “Anti-Male” Symbol
Apple just announced their thinnest phone ever in the new iPhone Air ad. However, one specific detail is making it go viral in Korea.

In the global advertisement, it shows a hand pinching the phone with its thumb and index finger to show off the slim dimensions of the phone.
However, only in Korea is the advertisement different. There is hand appearing to avoid usage of the hand gesture.
This can be seen in the ads for different countries, with only Korea’s ad featuring the one change.

In Korea, the hand gesture is associated with Megalia, a former radical feminist community board. The symbol (π€) represents a way of mocking men’s small private parts.

As soon as the advertisements were released, the one difference went immediately viral among netizens.

Particularly, they mocked the decision to appease men’s rights activists who find the symbol offensive.
- “Global ‘small d*cks'”
- “Congrats to Korean ‘small d*cks’ for going global π π₯³ π”
- “LMAO”
- “Theyβre just blatantly playing it safe. I never used them anyway, but why is this global company acting so pathetic?”
- “Recognized as international Korean ‘small d*cks.’ Congrats, congrats.”
