Former APRIL’s Yoon Chaekyung To Leave DSP Media

Former APRIL‘s leader, Yoon Chaekyung, will be leaving DSP Media. On April 22, 2022, the company released an official statement through the group’s official fancafe. While it has already been announced that the group has disbanded in early 2022, the remaining members have still continued as a part of the company. Now, the former leader will be parting ways with the company as well.

The company has been discussing the matter of future promotional activities with our artist Yoon Chaekyung. After lengthy discussions, we have decided to respect her want to embark on a challenge at a new place and her exclusive contract with us has ended as of April 20, 2022.

We convey our thanks to the fans who have treasured her, as well as to Yoon Chaekyung for having been active in a variety of departments for a long time. We hope you continue to give her much support and attention as she stands at a new starting line.

Although she failed to make her debut with I.O.I, she later debuted as the leader and oldest member of APRIL. APRIL faced an alleged bullying controversy with former member Lee Hyunjoo and ended up falling out of favor with the public. Subsequently, their disbandment was announced January 2022.
