ASTRO Cha Eunwoo’s Individual Fan Club Recruitment Sparks Debate

Is it OK for idol group members to have their own fan clubs?

On December 1, ASTRO‘s management, FANTAGIO, announced that member Cha Eunwoo will be recruiting his first official individual fan club. The announcement came from Cha Eunwoo’s new official individual X (Twitter) account.

However, because Cha Eunwoo is still part of ASTRO, and ASTRO is an active group with an established fan club, AROHA, K-Pop fans are questioning the management’s decision to pursue the divide between the group fandom and the member’s fandom.

In specific, Korean fans have gathered to discuss the recruitment on social media platforms and other online communities like theqoo. Some believe it’s “rude” to the other ASTRO members, as well as AROHAs.
