BABYMONSTER Ahyeon’s “SHEESH” Teaser Gets Incredibly Poor Reactions

“How does it already sound worse than batter up…”

Earlier today, YG Entertainment revealed the first member teaser for BABYMONSTER‘s upcoming title track, “SHEESH”. The video featured highly anticipated member Ahyeon, who is joining the group a few months since their original debut with “Batter Up” back in November 2023.

This comes a day after the tracklist for BABYMONSTER’s first mini-album, BABYMONS7TER, was revealed, with the album set to come out on April 1.

While Ahyeon’s visuals and charisma have been getting praise, however, many netizens aren’t too impressed with the song teaser in the new clip. The word “sheesh” is repeated by Ahyeon five different times in a way that some fans feel is too grating and hard on the ears.

Additionally, some think that using the word “sheesh” as such a staple for the song could end up dating the track in years to come, when the word inevitably falls out of style with the public.

On a forum post about BABYMONSTER’s “SHEESH” teaser, the comments were overwhelmingly critical towards those behind the song and not so much to Ahyeon herself.

A Reddit post on the topic showed similar reactions from netizens, with the top comments sharing almost identical sentiments to those above.

Since this is only a small clip of “SHEESH”, it’s possible the song will sound completely different than what people expect, but we’ll have to wait and see.
