Recently, a boy group announced they would be returning, though their new name has earned some varying reaction.
In 2023, Nature Space Entertainment introduced a four-member group called XEED. The group officially debuted on December 1 with the mini album Dream Land.
The group gained attention early on as many netizens were interested due to their ages. At the time, the group’s youngest member was 26 years old internationally, much older than most K-Pop maknaes.
After member Roni made a sudden departure, the group went on to add an additional two members, former TST‘s UO and former Target‘s Shun.
Fans were left shocked when on March 22, 2024, the group were suddenly revealed to be disbanding. No explanation was given, with the members also expressing surprise over the news but promising to stay in touch.
Now, the group has fulfilled their promise in a big way!
On April 20, new accounts on Instagram and X revealed that the group would be returning, sharing a photo tagging the five members on their Instagram story.
The group also shared they would now be going by a new name, XD.

…but some couldn’t help but express amusement over their new name. “XD” is a text emoticon that is used to express happiness or laughter, and is considered “cringy” to use in regular conversation these days.
