Beloved Male Celebrity Reveals His Secret Battle With Cancer On National Television

A beloved celebrity has left viewers stunned by revealing his cancer diagnosis on an MBC show.

The person in question is actor Jang Geun Suk, also known by his popular nickname “Prince of Asia.” Jang is making his return to entertainment shows after a long hiatus with the upcoming episode of MBC’s Radio Star and he will be joined by TXT‘s Soobin, FTISLAND‘s Hongki, and entertainer Kim Shin Young as fellow guests.

During the episode, Jang expressed his excitement about being on the show, sharing that he had long wanted to make his appearance. This sweet confession was followed by a jarring revelation when the actor said that he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had spent ten months battling it quietly.

He admitted that those ten months were not easy to go through, as the silence and uncertainty hounded him. Fortunately, the actor was able to overcome the disease and even obtained a newfound passion for his craft.

Notably, Jang resumed his activities in Japan after recovery and has spent the past few months making appearances on Korean TV shows as well, including the popular JTBC show, Chef & My Fridge 2 (also known as Please Take Care of My Refrigerator 2). Apart from acting, he also spoke about trying out different genres of music and performance, including busking and EDM shows.

Jang also jokingly mentioned that with this new phase of his career, his fanbase now spans up to people in their 70s. “A lot of my fans are as passionate as Gangnam moms from elite school districts,” he quipped.
