Legendary Artist’s Total Loss Amount From Ticket Fraud Goes Viral
With recent news of BIGBANG G-Dragon’s Hong Kong concert, ticket fraud and black market ticket sales are reaching a serious level.

According to media reports, the Hong Kong police received over 30 reports of ticket fraud related to his concert, which is scheduled to be held at the AsiaWorld Arena from August 8 to 10.
The total loss was reported to be a staggering HK$610,000 (~ $78,151.98 USD).
Victims reportedly contacted the scammer after seeing ticket sale posts on social media platforms like Facebook, only to be tricked into sending additional money after being told that an additional deposit was required. One victim reportedly lost HK$180,000 (~22,930.20 USD).

Being his first Hong Kong concert in eight years, the show received massive local attention and sold out immediately. This led to a surge in ticket scalping, with prices jumping two to five times the regular price.
Similar situations have occurred in other regions where G-Dragon’s concerts were held.
Last month, a ticket scalper was caught buying tickets in bulk and selling them at inflated prices for the Taiwan concert. Taiwanese authorities are currently investigating the case.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon is on his world tour, Übermensch, which started in May.
