BTS And BLACKPINK Named Top Searched Boy And Girl Groups Of All Time

BLACKPINK and BTS have been officially awarded coveted new titles.

On December 11, Google released a video celebrating their 25 years as a search engine. It shows a summary of notable moments and inquiries worldwide, highlighting trends across the world.

Google’s “25 Years in Search: The Most Searched” film compiles various top searched entries which include the Most Searched Emoji (a red heart), the Most Searched Songwriter (Taylor Swift), the Most Searched Superhero (Spiderman), and of course, the Most Searched Boy Group and Girl Group.

Top Boy Group

First up, the boy group who was searched the most on Google was BTS.

BTS | HYBE

The HYBE group debuted in 2013 with the song “No More Dream” and gradually became the top boy band in the world,

As reflected in worldwide search data across all categories, interest in BTS peaked in June 2021 with a score of 100.

Because of their popularity, cartoon versions of BTS were even included in the recent Google Doodle.

Top Girl Group

Meanwhile, the top girl group of all time in terms of Google search results is BLACKPINK.

Interest in the four-member group peaked at 100 in October 2020 and generally remained strong.

They debuted in 2016 with the songs “WHISTLE” and “BOOMBAYAH.” This month, they renewed their contract for group activities with YG Entertainment.
