BLACKPINK’s global popularity and influence have placed them in a league of their own, and seven years into their career, their Coachella 2023 performance and the sheer size of the crowd gathered to witness history prove they’re continuing to conquer the world.

Early predictions by TechRadar anticipated that over 250 million people would be tuning into BLACKPINK’s performance via livestream. According to media outlet Indie 505, over 125,000 people attended BLACKPINK’s Coachella 2023 performance in-person during weekend one of the festival.

In 2019, BLACKPINK performed on the Sahara stage at Coachella, with crowds reportedly spilling out of the stage’s designated area as fans and locals gathered to see the group’s debut Coachella performance.

Now, on the larger main stage and with a larger audience in attendance, the group was unstoppable and quickly became the main event as various hashtags such as #BLACKPINKinCOACHELLA and #Pinkchella trended worldwide.

Kaskade‘s Coachella 2015 set drew the largest crowd the festival had seen and was later reportedly surpassed by Harry Styles‘ 100,000+ audience during his headlining Coachella performance in 2023.

BLACKPINK not only made history for being the first K-Pop and girl group to headline Coachella, but as data rolls in, they are shaping up to be the most live-streamed act in Coachella‘s history and already have a record-breaking crowd size before their second performance on April 22, 2023.
