BLACKPINK Make History As The First Girl Group To Top The Billboard Artist 100 Chart

The queens made another entry into the history book!

Making history is something that BLACKPINK is a master at and with the release of their first full-length album THE ALBUM, BLACKPINK has been adding even more pages to the history books. And with their takeover of Billboard‘s Artist 100 chart, they’ve just added another entry into the books!

After taking no. 65 on the chart last week, BLACKPINK has just soared straight to the top to claim the no. 1 place on the chart!

Snagging the top spot on the chart is certainly no easy feat as the Billboard Artist 100 is known to be one of the toughest charts to enter. The chart combines artist activity from factors like album sales, radio airplay, streaming, consumption, and social media activity.

Reaching no. 1 on the chart, however, is not only an impressive feat — it’s a historic one! Through this achievement, BLACKPINK has officially become the first-ever girl group to top the chart! Not only that but they’re the third Korean act in history to do so too as the only other groups to reach the top of the chart have been BTS and SuperM.

This new history-making moment comes right after BLACKPINK wrote another record in the history books with THE ALBUM debuting at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 this week.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK has been absolutely crushing it on Billboard charts around the globe taking two spots on the Hot 100 chart with “Lovesick Girls” and “Ice Cream”, taking the top spot on the Worldwide Albums chart, dominating Song Sales charts, and more.

Talk about history-making queens! Congratulations on another historic moment BLACKPINK!
