BLACKPINK has been chosen by American online magazine Variety as some of the most influential women in entertainment.
To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, Variety published a list of 54 women who they believed have had the greatest influence in the global entertainment industry.
The article stated their success during 2020 despite the group not being able to tour during the lockdown.
The past year has seen them cement their superstardom.
The publication praised BLACKPINK for what they have achieved this year, including the release of their first full-length album, The Album, topping iTunes in 57 territories alongside their successful documentary and online concert!
It also spoke about the monumental success of the “How You Like That” video, which set a record after gaining 86.3 million views on YouTube in only 24 hours.
Speaking about the impact of BLACKPINK, Variety emphasized that, “Their popularity knows no borders.”
