BLACKPINK’s Jennie And IVE’s Wonyoung Spark Comparison Over Skin Exposure

IVE’s Wonyoung and BLACKPINK’s Jennie recently became the subject of an unexpected discourse on Korean forums.

After Wonyoung attended the 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon event on December 25, KST, some netizens expressed their disapproval of her stage outfit, which was a Santa costume. Critics pointed out the dress’s short length, criticizing Wonyoung of trying to push a “sexy” image of herself to stay relevant.

Though fans rushed to Wonyoung’s defense, arguing that she was within her rights to dress the way she liked, the vitriol continued. Now, Jennie has been roped into the discourse, with fans comparing her stage outfit at the 2025 Melon Music Awards with Wonyoung’s dress.

A viral post on Nate Pann pointed out that Jennie’s dress was even shorter than Wonyoung’s, and yet she didn’t receive the same backlash as the junior did.

The comments under the post, however, have criticized the OP (original poster) for unnecessarily trying to pit Jennie against Wonyoung instead of supporting both of their rights to wear whatever they pleased.
