BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” Plays During Presidential Campaign Rally In The Philippines As Nearly 180K People Sing Along

BLACKPINK was definitely in the Philippines’ area during a recent presidential campaign rally!

The Philippines will elect its president on May 9, 2022, and the candidates have been holding campaign rallies leading up to the election date.

The front-running candidates are Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (the son of former president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos), Leni Robredo (current vice president), and boxer Manny PacquaioSara Duterte, the daughter of current president Rodrigo Duterte, is Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s running mate, and she is running for vice president.

On March 20, Leni Robredo and her runningmate, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, held a rally in Pasig. This rally reportedly drew a crowd of approximately 180,000 people. The rally was the largest Leni-Kiko rally yet.

During the rally, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” played, and the attendees went wild as the song began. When Lisa said “BLACKPINK in your area” at the beginning of the song, the crowd chanted along.

BLINKs were thrilled to see that BLACKPINK’s music was played during the huge rally.

Leni Robredo’s campaign played K-Pop during previous rallies, too. TWICE‘s “The Feels” was played during soundcheck at a March 11 rally in Bacolod City, and “Fancy” also played during the Pasig rally.

While the BLACKPINK members have yet to comment on their song being played during the massive rally, we’re sure they’d be thrilled to see thousands of people singing along to their music!
