BLACKPINK Might Not Have Met Selena Gomez In Person, But Lisa Can’t Stop Fangirling Over Her
Since the popularity of K-Pop has spread worldwide, it has meant that fans have been able to see a lot more collaborations between K-Pop and Western musicians. One collab that took the world by storm was BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez, who released the “Ice Cream” in 2020.
As it was released during the pandemic, the different scenes from the music video were filmed separately, and BLACKPINK has shared that they haven’t met Selena in person yet. Yet, it seems as if despite this face, the members have nothing but kind words for the singer.
Lisa recently had a trip to America where she promoted her debut solo track “LALISA” and was interviewed for 102.7KIISFM.
During the interview, Lisa was asked if there was a time that she had ever been really starstruck meeting someone. At first, Lisa seemed to struggle with the answer explaining, “I feel starstruck every time I meet new people, so I can’t choose one.”
The host then spoke about the people that Lisa and BLACKPINK had worked with and whether she was starstruck by those people, including Halsey and Selena Gomez. Lisa honestly explained that, due to the pandemic, she hadn’t had the chance to meet Selena Gomez.
As the group worked with Selena, they had made contact with each other and chatted on the phone. In particular, Lisa revealed that they had spoken several times throughout the music video process. With this in mind, Lisa seemed to have nothing but kind words about Selena.
She is really sweet. She is beautiful too, okay I’m going to choose Selena. I’m going to choose her because, oh my god, she is so pretty and she is so nice. She’s like a sweetheart.

Lisa then added that it seemed like a dream after speaking to Selena on the phone for the first time. Although it is a shame that the two haven’t met in person, it was so sweet to see Lisa fangirling over Selena and just how amazing a person she is.
It isn’t the first time Lisa has spoken about Selena while in America. In another interview, Lisa explained that she loved working with Selena so much, and she wanted to work with her again!
And I really want to see her again. If I can work with her again, I would love to.

Hopefully, as restrictions worldwide start to ease, BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez will finally get to meet in person. Maybe, there could be another collaboration on the cards very soon!
