The tour’s name, DEADLINE, was announced on April 16 (KST).

The poster immediately sparked huge reactions, with some pointing out the lack of creativity (as it is similar to the past graphics), but also the irony of the name. While the tour is set to start soon, it lacks any public preparation, including teasers or a new album, as the last to be released was BORN PINK in 2022.

Yet, many others took the name in a different direction, with some believing it is alluding to the group disbanding. “Deadline” tends to mean the latest time something has to be completed by, and some netizens thought it meant it literally, with the last date of BLACKPINK activities, with the members focusing on solo activities.

Some joked that they probably knew the meaning and that it was just the members taking advantage and trolling fans as the “disbandment” allegations have been circulating since the members focused on solo activities after leaving YG Entertainment.

The tour is set to begin July 5 in Seoul.
