BLACKPINK’s Lisa Sets A Record For Female K-Pop Artists On Billboard’s Pop Airplay Chart

A true icon.

BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has seen insane levels of success since her debut as a solo artist in 2021. For one, her track “MONEY” became the fastest K-Pop solo track to surpass 300 million streams on Spotify, while the title track of her album, “LALISA,” topped the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 72 countries, as well as the YouTube Top 100 Songs for 2 consecutive weeks.

But now, Lisa has set a new record by becoming not only the first female K-Pop artist to enter Billboard‘s Pop Airplay chart, but also by becoming the first female K-Pop artist to enter it twice. The chart ranks the songs that reach the largest audience through pop radio in the US, something that not many K-Pop acts have been able to achieve.

Lisa first made history when “MONEY” entered the chart in December 2021, but, impressively, the track has remained in the chart for 3 consecutive weeks now (and counting). This also marks the second time Lisa enters it, the first time having been as a member of BLACKPINK with the track “Ice Cream,” which featured Selena Gomez.

These instances officially make Lisa the most successful female K-Pop artist on the chart, and BLINKS couldn’t be more proud! Congratulations to Lisa! This is only the beginning of her solo career, so it will be exciting to see what she achieves in the future.
