BLACKSWAN’s Fatou is currently a contestant on Gone PD. She is a member of the multi-national K-Pop group, BLACKSWAN. The path of an idol has not been easy for the star. BLACKSWAN has undergone multiple member changes since their debut in 2011 as Rania.

On Gone PD, Fatou revealed that she had once turned to alcohol after experiencing some setbacks in her career. Fatou made her debut in 2020. Then, three Korean members Judy, Hyeme and Youngheun were a part of the group. They all left the group soon enough, and by 2022, Fatou was the only original lineup member left. She was later joined by three other members. During the time that she was left all alone, she fell into sadness. Fatou revealed that she lost meaning in life.

My group now is BLACKSWAN. Around last year, the other members left and I was the only one left. I wondered how I was to perform and stand on stage. I was all alone all of a sudden. Because of that, from September to December, all I did was drink every day from morning to night. But all of a sudden, one day, I thought that this was it. My life had no more meaning. So what should I do? There was a window next to my bed. We lived on the 10th floor. I opened the window and looked down. But I suddenly thought of my mom. Ah, I can’t do this to my mom. She worked hard to raise me. I can’t just end things like this. It would be a bad thing to do to my mom. I closed the window again then.

Like fate, she got new members soon enough. Fatou was happy once more, and began writing lyrics again, preparing to perform once more. Her tenacity and strong will, along with the appearance of new members, helped her to overcome her difficulties. Kudos to BLACKSWAN for withstanding hard times!
