THE BOYZ’s Kevin Under Heavy Criticism for Making Racist Remarks Against Asians

Kevin made a derogatory imitation of Asians in a past YouTube video.

THE BOYZ‘s Kevin has recently faced controversy and heavy criticism after a past video resurfaced of him allegedly making racist remarks against Asians.

In the YouTube video in question, Keven used a filter that altered his face and joked around in front of the camera.

But during the video, Kevin made remarks such as “I look so Asian” and pulled his eyes to the sides of his face and joked, “My name is ching chong bing bong.

The expression “ching chong bing bong” is often used by Westerners when they describe the way Asians speak in a derogatory manner.

Kevin is a citizen of Canada, and although he was born in Korea he immigrated at an early age.

While referring to himself as “looking Asian” isn’t enough to be criticized, many are attacking the idol for using the “ching chong bing bong” expression, especially during a time when protests regarding racism are the topic of conversation in both the US as well as other parts of the world.

THE BOYZ is currently active on Korean television through the Mnet program, Road to Kingdom.
