BTS’s Comeback Concert Sparks Shock After Police Predicted 260,000 People Crowd
Police estimating a peak of 260,000 attendees.
BTS’s free comeback concert in Gwanghwamun drew far fewer people than expected. Three hours before the 8 PM show, only around 30,000 attendees had gathered, despite police estimating a peak of 260,000.

City data reported 26,000–28,000 people near Gwanghwamun and Deoksugung Palace and 6,000–6,500 at Gwanghwamun Square.

The venue had 22,000 seats, with entry beginning hours earlier. Police deployed thousands of officers, conducted full inspections, and controlled traffic to manage the crowd.

These measures are now being called excessive by netizens, given the turnout.

- So all that fuss was just for this?”
- “This is beyond embarrassing… You caused all that disruption just for this?”
- “They blocked everything off so people couldn’t even get in, that’s why it looks like that…”
- “Sigh…”
- “Putting everything aside, did they really need body searches and traffic control for a crowd that size?”
- “They should’ve just held it at a concert venue instead of causing all this chaos…”

- “So this is what all that fuss was for…”
- “Huh?”
- “Doesn’t even look like 10,000 people.”
- “That’s it?”
- “They spent taxpayer money and caused all that chaos for this…”
