BTS Finish An Amazing Year Strong On Billboard Charts

As 2018 winds down, BTS have finished their amazing year on the Billboard Charts with style.

As we enter the week of the 29th of December, the Billboard charts have been updated and ARMY will be happy to know that BTS have continued their dominance.

First and foremost, BTS have made history by becoming the first ever act to stay on top of the Social 50 for a whole calendar year. ARMY have proven themselves to be one of the most dedicated and organised fandoms out there by accomplishing this feat.

BTS have been at number 1 for 106 of their 115 weeks on the chart, accurately reflecting their quick rise to dominance and the power of the ARMY. It seems only a matter of time before BTS catch up to Justin Beiber in cumulative total weeks at number 1, the Canadian popstar is hovering at 156 weeks total.

In addition to their amazing accomplishment in the social charts, BTS have also put up impressive numbers in other categories. Their hit album that released in August, Love Yourself: Answer has landed 74th on the Billboard 200. It also currently holds 49th on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and 65th on the Billboard Canadian Album chart.

BTS themselves are 2nd on the Artist 100. The other two parts of the Love Yourself triology, Tear and Her are 72nd and 88th respectively on the Top Album Sales.

For the independent album chart, LY: Answer is 2nd, LY: Tear is 4th and LY: Her is 5th. Very impressive performance from all three of the Love Yourself triology. Everyone has their own opinions on BTS’ best work but it’s clear to see that LY is universally beloved.

For the world albums chart, LY: Answer tops it for the 13th consecutive week. LY: Tear is 2nd, LY: Her is 3rd while their third Japanese studio album Face Yourself is 6th. The fandom for BTS’ Japanese works is very strong and this is clearly evidenced by how strong Face Yourself is charting.

As 2018 winds down, BTS can reflect back on a fantastic year charts wise. Will the boys continue their chart dominance going in to 2019? Most likely.
