City In Minnesota, USA Declares BTS Honorary Citizens

Maybe they’ll visit on their next US tour!

All the BTS members were born and raised in South Korea, but now they’re honorary citizens of a city in Minnesota, United States too.

The BTS members have a diverse range of cities they call their hometowns. Suga and V were raised in Daegu, one of the major metropolitan areas of South Korea. Jimin and Jungkook, meanwhile, call seaside Busan home. J-Hope is from the agricultural city of Gwangju, Jin grew up in Seoul’s neighbor Gwacheon, and RM hails from the flower-filled region of Ilsan.

While none of the members have lived in the United States—barring a month Jungkook spent learning dance in Los Angeles—they’re now being honored by a US municipality. According to a new press release, the City Council of Shakopee in Minnesota announced that the BTS members have been declared the town’s new honorary citizens.
