BTS’s Jimin Shares Why He Was Hesitant To Contact BIGBANG’s Taeyang First

And his reason is all too relatable for all the fans out there.

On February 3, KST, BTS‘s Jimin did a livestream on Weverse, keeping his promise to ARMYs.

Though he didn’t have much time on hand, Jimin interacted with his fans and shared some stories from his recent activities. Naturally, he got to talking about working with his idol BIGBANG‘s Taeyang for “VIBE.”

As he reiterated his love and respect for Taeyang as an artist, Jimin started gushing about how surreal it felt to work with him on the song. Yet, he was not enthusiastic about contacting Taeyang first, even when his co-members suggested he connect with him through social media.

Jimin’s hesitance had a very relatable reason behind it. Just like many fans feel that they shouldn’t meet their idols in real life, the singer, too, felt like he should remain a fan from a distance. So, when Taeyang himself contacted him for the collaboration, Jimin was stunned, hoping it was not a lie. But his progression from a fan to a collaborator was smooth as he learned a lot from his idol and also saw his warm, humane side while working on the song with him.

Fans seem to relate to Jimin’s sentiments, as they themselves are intimidated by the thought of ever meeting BTS in real life.

A respectful fan and a hardworking artist, Jimin is the standard everywhere!
