BTS Just Overtook Ariana Grande With This Incredible Record
According to United World Charts (UWC), an album sales tracking site, BTS has a new and impressive record to their name.
Map Of The Soul: Persona has surpassed Ariana Grande‘s Thank U, Next to become the best selling album of 2019.
Since its debut on April 12, BTS’s latest album has sold nearly 2,514,000 copies in its debut week, obliterating Ariana Grande’s previous record of 1,901,000 copies so far.
Ariana Grande’s album was released on February 8, 2019, and BTS has outsold that album in a week.
Map Of The Soul: Persona‘s 2,514,000 copies in its debut week has the second highest worldwide sales week for an album of all time, since the legendary Adele‘s album, 25. Adele’s album sold nearly 5 million copies in its debut week, holding the record for the largest worldwide sales week for an album.
