BTS Producer Pdogg Wins Two Daesang Awards At The 7th KOMCA Awards
BTS‘s producer Pdogg and won 2 Daesangs at the 7th KOMCA Awards, which will be held on February 18. The 7th KOMCA Awards Ceremony will be held virtually through KOMCA’s YouTube channel starting at 3pm KST on February 18.
Pdogg was awarded the Daesang for both Songwriting and Composing due to his work on BTS’s album Map of the Soul: 7 and BE, where he helped produce 11 of the 20 songs on Map of the Soul: 7 and two out of five songs on BE. PDOGG won the award for the 3rd consecutive year.
The Daesang awards are given to the songwriter and composer who received the most royalties in the calendar year prior. Due to his involvement in BTS’s hit songs such as “Boy With Luv (featuring Halsey)”, “Dionysus”, “Black Swan”, “On”, and “Life Goes On”, it’s not surprising he was able to claim the award.
In addition, “Boy With Luv (featuring Halsey)” won the award for Song of the Year, as it was the song with the most overall streams in 2020.
Composer Cho Young Soo won the Daesang for arrangement, marking it the third year he has won the Daesang for arrangement. He previously won the award at the first and second editions of the awards show.
