BTS Projected To Make K-Pop History By Placing No.1 On U.S. And U.K. Charts

Potentially another historic moment for BTS.

BTS is set to make history once again — off the back of their latest release, Map Of The Soul: Persona.

Billboard‘s official website reported that BTS was on its way to secure its third No.1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

“Industry forecasters suggest the set, which was released on April 12, could earn between 200,000 and 225,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending April 18,” reported Billboard on April 15. “If [Map Of The Soul: Persona] opens at No. 1, it will mark the third leader for the act, following 2018’s Love Yourself: Answer and Love Yourself: Tear“.

Billboard is set to reveal, on April 21, the chart’s top 10 artists for the week of April 27, where BTS is expected to take the top spot.

Similarly, BTS is expected to take an unprecedented first place on the UK’s Official Albums Chart with their latest album.

Map Of The Soul: Persona currently leads the Official Chart Update by over 10,000 combined chart sales. If the momentum continues, the EP would become BTS’s highest charting release yet in the UK, and the first No.1 album from a K-Pop act on the Official UK Chart.

The EP’s midweek sales are reportedly already higher than the first week sales of their previous three Top 20 albums combined.

If BTS succeeds, they will become the first K-Pop act to place No.1 on both the U.S. and U.K. charts at the same time–a notoriously difficult and unprecedented feat.
