HYBE “Copies” BTS Fans’ Homework, Bringing Back A Viral ARMY Moment
HYBE is “copying” ARMY’s homework again, but nobody is complaining. If anything, HYBE is getting an A+ on this assignment!
Today, BTS dropped new preview photos for their Season’s Greetings 2022 package. In one set, the members walk their own version of an award show’s red carpet: the purple carpet.
These new photos call to mind a viral moment from ARMY’s past: the BTS Music Video Awards (#BTSMVAs).
On August 26, 2019, ARMY held their own award show for BTS during MTV‘s 2019 Video Music Awards. Twitter user @Highlight_Army created the show to, “speak out against gatekeepers in the industry”.

Although BTS won two of the five awards they were nominated for, fans felt that the group received unfair treatment by not receiving nominations in the major artist categories.
