Burning Sun Assault Victim Shares Reports Of Date Rape Drug Use At Clubs

These illegal drugs are used to assist a sexual assault.

Kim Sang Kyo, the victim of the Burning Sun Assault, has been sharing reports he received from informants about the sales and use of date rape drugs at clubs.

On January 29, he shared a video clip on his Instagram that asked anyone who has used, been victimized or knows more about the date rape drug known as GHB, or any other hallucinogens to report this to SBS.

*GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate): often referred to as “club drug” or “date rape drug.” The effects of this drug may include euphoria, increased sex drive, tranquility, sweating, loss of consciousness, nausea, hallucinations, amnesia and coma.

Then he shared some of the reports he received on his Instagram Story. One of these was a screenshot of a conversation between a female stimulant salesperson and a client.

Salesperson: Due to the current situation, we will not be selling female stimulants for the time being.
Salesperson: Please watch what you say and refrain from using the products. If you’ve seen this notification, please confirm. If we don’t receive a confirmation, you will be added to the blacklist.

Client: Confirmed
Client: Confirm
Client: Confirmed
Client: Confirmed, thank you for your work.

Another salesperson had even sent their client a photo of a woman who was drugged. When the client asked about the legality of what was happening, he claimed that it was fine as everything was already settled with the “people above.”

Salesperson: Yes, drugs
Salesperson: In effect lol
Salesperson: We have various drugs like Viagra and Baomei lol

Client: Aren’t those illegal?

Salesperson: It doesn’t matter
Salesperson: We’ve already settled this with those above lol
Salesperson: Would you like to take some quality drugs next time you visit? lol

Client: No, that’s okay. I don’t like this type of thing.
Client: This is really off-putting.

Another conversation between a salesperson and a client indicates the effects of some of these drugs with some apparently making the victim pass out and lose all memory.

Client: Are you working?

Salesperson: Hello.
Salesperson: I’m at my office right now.
Salesperson: I apologize for the late response.
Salesperson: Which product do you need?

Client: Are aphrodisiacs and GHB different?
Client: Which is the one where you add to coffee or alcohol?

Salesperson: GHB is an aphrodisiac.
Salesperson: It’s a product that’s used for getting women.
Salesperson: It’s a product that makes you pass out.
Salesperson: (She’ll have) no memory.

Client: How long does it last?

Salesperson: 5 hours.
Salesperson: 4-5 hours.

Client: It doesn’t last too long.
Client: Does it last longer if you add several?

Salesperson: Of course.
Salesperson: If you purchase in bulk right now, we give extra gifts.

Client: Please tell me the price and quantity.
Client: It erases all memory, right?

Kim Sang Kyo also shared the story of a woman who claims to be a victim of an employee of Club Burning Sun. In a long post, she told the story of how she was sexually assaulted by one of the employees but was ultimately unable to report the case to the police because the club had deleted the CCTV footage.

Recently, a CCTV footage of a staff member forcefully dragging a woman has been resurfacing in connection to the Burning Sun Assault. An employee had filmed the footage before it was allegedly deleted.
