After audio recordings began to spread of CEO Kang abusing the members, the company initially released a brief statement.

Hello, this is OMEGA X’s management Spire Entertainment.

First, we would like to sincerely apologize for causing you concern with the recent news. As of October 22 (local time), OMEGA X completed their first world tour, ‘CONNECT : Don’t give up,’ in Los Angeles. Following the month-long tour, which began in Guadalajara, Mexico, on September 16 and ended in LA, USA, on October 22, we had a celebratory team-wide dinner. The conversation, which has circulated online via social media, was recorded at that dinner.

At the time, having completed all legs of the tour, the OMEGA X members and Spire Entertainment team were discussing the hard work that went into the concerts, as well as the future that is to come. During this discussion, we also talked about certain moments that caused disappointments in one another. And in doing so, the conversation got heated, and voices were raised.

Shortly after, the CEO, Kang Seong Hee, confirmed she was the woman in the recordings, stating that the allegations were “one-sided” and started by an “anti-fan who is hostile toward the management.

It’s a one-sided allegation started by an anti-fan who is hostile toward the management.

I was exhausted because I’ve been up for several nights in a row. I even had a bloody nose because I was so tired. But the members didn’t think to make me feel better. They didn’t care about me. So I felt upset and acted out of disappointment.

Usually, I’m extremely polite toward the members. I even use honorifics when I talk to them.

— Kang Seong Hee, CEO of Spire Entertainment

The statement was immediately met with backlash from netizens, as they could hear the audio recordings and view the videos themselves, which told a different story.

OMEGA X is a unique group formed of members who were previously or are currently in inactive or disbanded groups. OMEGA X’s leader, Jaehan, is a former member of the K-Pop group SPECTRUM, and his former fellow SPECTRUM member Dongkyu recently spoke out in support of Jaehan.

Dongkyu posted an Instagram story that featured an image from exclusive SBS News coverage of the abuse, which again featured the Spire Entertainment CEO’s statement alleging that the abuse accusations were from an “anti-fan.

The SBS News caption said,

Q. A witness video of the assault was uploaded to social media?

A. You’ll know if you trace the person who uploaded to social media but that person is severely against the company

In defense of Jaehan, Dongkyu responded to the claim with a scathing comment toward Spire Entertainment’s CEO.

You’re probably the ‘Anti’
I won’t curse you out here since I’ve already done it a lot vocally
How dare you to my dongsaeng
How dare someone like you

— Dongkyu

OMEGA X member Sebin is also a member of the group SNUPER, which is currently inactive as four of SNUPER’s six members are completing their military service.

SNUPER’s leader, Taewoong, also made his stance clear, posting a story in apparent support of his maknae and his group. Taewoong shared the hashtag, #PROTECTOMEGAX, which is currently trending on social media as netizens work to bring attention to the mistreatment of OMEGA X.

Beauty guru, music artist, and social media personality Edward Avila, who has collaborated with OMEGA X to film two videos, also spoke out on his Instagram. Edward Avila shared he felt something was off about CEO Kang when he had previously met her.
