CORTIS’ Public Performance Ends In Major Backlash

The event ended in chaos.

Boy group CORTIS recently held a busking event in Hongdae on March 7, 2026. The boys performed a medley of their popular songs for fans.

Problem arose when fans began to crowd the boys. The stage was held at a playground in Hongdae, a popular area for busking.

Without proper fencing or security, fans began to move slower and closer. Staff stepped in to manage the crowd, but the staff’s words left a bitter taste in many’s mouths.

…if it happens, we can’t plan such good events in the future. Please cooperate with us, and we hope that you can remain calm and listen to us so that we can end this safely.

Many felt that it was the fault of the company for having poor planning.

I really can’t stand how f*cking angry their attitude makes me ultimately… They think that they planned a perfect event that’s young, gen Z, coloring outside the lines, but fans who deviously crowded them ruined everything.

The event was one that was not only open to the public and casuals, but planned specifically for the weekend at one of the most crowded streets in Korea. Given such plans, the company should have taken better care, but the event ended in chaos, leading staff to blame the fans.

You guys were the ones who started this, no one asked you to. So why are you turning fans into fools?

Although the event had been planned with good intentions, the unexpected surge of people ended up in chaos, leading to frustrations from all sides.
