“Crazy Horse” Denies Angelababy Visited Venue Following Backlash
Since its creation in 1951, Crazy Horse Cabaret’s shows have hosted numerous celebrity guests, both in the audience and a select few who were chosen to be part of the show itself.
At the end of September, as Paris Fashion Week took over France’s capital, an increased number of celebrity attendees were drawn to Crazy Horse Cabaret to support BLACKPINK Lisa‘s five exclusive performances at the legendary venue.
The collision of fashion week and Lisa’s highly-anticipated performance resulted in crowds of fans and passersby gathering in front of the venue, spotting celebrities there to support Lisa’s show.
Chinese model, actress, and singer Angelababy was among the reported celebrity guests spotted outside of the venue.
Following news of her reported attendance at the show, the popular star, along with additional Chinese celebrities who reportedly attended the show, faced backlash and threats of boycotts as netizen criticism grew due to concerns the Chinese celebrities violated rules published by the China Association of Performing Arts by possibly attending the provocative show.

Once Chinese media began reporting on their alleged attendance, China Central Television (CCTV), which is the predominant state television broadcaster in China, deleted the video of Angelababy’s recent performance at their Mid-Autumn Festival, according to a report by TVBS.
Amid the growing backlash, Crazy Horse released an official statement on their Instagram account, denying that Angelababy has ever been a guest at their venue.
The venue acknowledged they were aware of the “polemic” around Angelababy, but stated that she has “never seen a [Crazy Horse] show.”
