Jungwon revealed that while their previous release details their feelings as trainees, BORDER : CARNIVAL tells the story of their feelings post-debut.

Heeseung also recalled that they have only recently been able to do offline activities for the first time since their debut, such as fan meetings and music shows. This left them with many exciting emotions that are reminiscent of the energy of a carnival.

Sunghoon discussed the transition into offline events and doing things for the first time such as meeting fans in person.

At first, it was awkward but as I got used to it, I felt like I was melting into the siutation and I was getting used to it. We put those emotions and images into this album.

This theme is carried throughout the album from the first lyrics fans hear when they listen.

The title track, “Drunk-Dazed,” also embodies this exciting energy.

The title track “Drunk-Dazed” is a pop rock genre song that gives you a rock like feel for the colorful energy of the carnival.

Jake revealed that from the moment he heard it, he knew it was a must-have for a title song!
