ENHYPEN Didn’t Expect “Polaroid Love” To Go Viral But Have An Idea Why It Did

Sunoo has a theory on why so many listeners loved it.

Though ENHYPEN switched to an edgy concept for their well-received title track “Blessed-Cursed”, it was their bubbly b-side “Polaroid Love” that went viral unexpectedly.

During the group’s recent interview with Dazed magazine, the boys shared their reactions when they’d first found out the news and their thoughts on why the song became so beloved.

Jay said it “just feels wonderful” to know that over half a million people around the world have used “Polaroid Love” for their TikToks, especially for the fan-created dance challenge.

Jake spoke for them all when sharing how shocked they’d been. The members hadn’t expected to see the song rise on the music charts or other idols joining the dance challenge. Sunoo had a theory on why it became so viral.

Between their smooth vocals and the romantic lyrics, Sunoo felt that listeners were drawn in by the emotion and how easily everyone could sing along. After seeing the public’s reaction, Sunoo can’t wait to release another song or two that captured the same vibe.

I think the catchy ‘sweet side’ of the song was the reason it received so much love, and I’m really proud of it. I hope we get opportunities to do more songs like this in the future.
