EXO‘s Xiumin officially enlisted in the military earlier today, as he entered the 2nd Infantry division in Yanggu County, Gangwon. Xiumin will continue his military service as a member of active duty following his 4 weeks of basic military training.
The Nodo Troops, where Xiumin will be training at, is considered one of locations where only the best troops can train at. While there were no pictures of him entering the center, several media outlets captured his van entering the base.
Xiumin is the first member of EXO to enlist in the military. He chose to enlist quietly behind closed doors, with no separate event. Prior to his enlistment, he posted on his personal Instagram, saying he will be gone only temporarily.
Prior to his enlistment, he showed off his shaved head, and the EXO members gave him a loving surprise during his fan meeting.
Xiumin’s expected military discharge date will be December 6, 2020.
