EXO members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen have asked to terminate their contracts with SM Entertainment.
On June 1, a lawyer for the EXO members released a statement revealing their intention to leave. In their statement, the members accused the label of making artists sign slave contracts.
As if 12-13 year contracts weren’t bad enough, the label is trying to make artists sign for 17-18 years. This is an abuse of power by SM.

According to a Yonhap News report, the members also had asked for a full accounting of their activities and the revenue produced from it since March, but SM Entertainment has yet to provide them.
Finally, the members apologized to their fans for causing concern.
