“Extreme” Fan Requests Being Done By Male K-Pop Idols At Fansigns Leave Netizens Shocked

People are divided over the issue.

The “extreme” fan requests male K-Pop idols have been accepting during fan meetings are making the rounds online.

Recently, netizens noticed a trend in fansigns where boy group members are asked to carry placards where they pretend to be stray animals seeking adoption. Groups Xdinary Heroes and BOYNEXTDOOR are a few examples of this.

In one case, Jaehyun from BOYNEXTDOOR went down on all fours and placed the placard around his neck, mimicking a dog.

He chose this action because the sign said, “Please take this stray puppy ㅠㅜ Jaehyun is a 21-month-old male.

In another case, Gaon from Xdinary Heroes placed his legs on top of his chair after receiving the sign, which said “Please take this stray kitty ㅠㅠ Jiseok is a 22 months old male.”

Although the K-Pop idols did the actions in good faith, netizens felt that the signs and their poses were going too far. They called it “weird” and “cringe,” comparing it to the controversial underground fan events held in Japan.

  • Ugh…. The fans making their biases do that are just weird.. It reminds me of those underground Japanese idols.
  • Ah this is cringe 🤮
  • No matter how much money you earn from doing this, this is just wrong.
  •  This is honestly oba…

Others, however, felt that the members were simply doing their job and “earning a living.” Netizens also argued that even if the fans had given the idols the sign, they were the ones who chose the pose.
