According to media reports, popular actor Song Young Kyu has been found dead.
The Yongin Eastern Police Station in Gyeonggi-do announced that they have confirmed his death and are investigating the case.
Song was found in a vehicle in Yonggin around 8 AM KST on August 4. An acquaintance reported the incident to the police after confirming his identity.
While the specific cause of death is unknown, it is reported that his mental state deteriorated following the reports of his drunk driving incident.
A close source stated, “He was distressed by the malicious articles and comments, and the circumstances were extremely unfavorable at that time.”
Meanwhile, Song gained popularity for his role in the 2019 film Extreme Job. However, this past June, he was caught driving drunk, leading to his removal from a drama he was in.
