One major issue fans have had has not been with the group themselves but with the promotional efforts of their company SM Entertainment. Despite celebrating their second-anniversary last year, the group only recently confirmed to be making a comeback in May — either their third mini-album or a first full album.

aespa is preparing for their comeback which is planned for May.

Please look forward to it.

Now fans have mixed feelings after it was revealed aespa would be featured in an upcoming movie’s soundtrack.

On March 19, it was revealed that aespa would be one of the artists featured in the Apple TV+ movie Tetris soundtrack. Tetris is a biographical film recounting the battle to secure rights to the iconic video game.

According to the tracklist, aespa’s track is called “Hold On Tight,” and will likely have a retro-futuristic vibe due to the movie being set in the 1980s.

As the soundtrack contains other covers of songs, some believe it may even be a remake of Electric Light Orchestra‘s version of the song released in 1981.

After the announcement was shared, fans shared their confusion at aespa’s somewhat random inclusion in the film, especially since this will be released before aespa’s full album.

Other fans, despite the “randomness” of the situation, are happy for aespa inclusion on the soundtrack as it means new music from the group.

Tetris premiered at SXSW in mid-March and will see a limited theater release on March 24 before making its debut on Apple TV+ on March 31.
