Popular Female Idol Comes Out As Bisexual During Live — Sparking Major Support
During a recent interview, both Megan and fellow member Lara were asked about how it felt to come out, and the idol explained how unexpected it was and that she decided to do it after speculations. She added that the support has been heartwarming, and while she was scared at first, Megan added, “Now I feel really open and myself.”
I feel like a lot of people have been kind of asking and like spectating, especially with like me. So I just decided to do it, it was so unexpected. I was with Lara when I came out on just like a Weverse live, but the amount of love I’ve been getting from it is heartwarming and the support has been really nice. I was scared at first but now I feel really open and myself.

Yet netizens felt heartbroken after hearing the words from Megan, feeling like the idol was basically made to come out because netizens kept speculating or making assumptions about her sexuality, especially after Lara came out. It also sparked a heated debate about netizens speculating about idols’ sexualities and putting out a narrative without the real facts.
in hindsight, megan was /basically/ forced to come out cos a lot of people (im guessing eyekons) were spectating and asking abt her sexuality… which is sad
please let the girls be themselves and let them share what they want to share.

my heart feels so heavy for megan she basically felt forced because of all those comments im just glad she felt loved and accepted but still no one should ever be forced to come out just so others would shut the hell up about their sexuality https://t.co/alljCgqVB3

With this context, I think it’s important to remember that eyekons should not be speculating on any member’s sexuality.
I’m truly sorry Megan felt targeted by a fanbase meant to be a safe space.
This targeted speculation should not and will not continue in this fanbase. pic.twitter.com/M4Hq8FuJx1

i’m still not forgiving you people for in a way forcing megan to come out. i love megan down and i’m glad she is sharing something so intimate with us and trusting us with it but we all know why she went ahead and did it ☹️ https://t.co/YcNnPzDpTZ

While netizens love that more idols feel comfortable coming out, many hope it is their own choice.
