Fifth Generation Idol Debuts Just 1 Week After Audition For Company

Seriously impressive!

Before their official debuts, idol hopefuls often spend years training under an entertainment company to earn the chance. While a few years is an amount that could be considered average, some idols stand out for spending much longer amounts of time.

Conversely, it is just as noteworthy when an idol debuts quickly, like a new fifth-generation idol just did!

In 2024, SW Entertainment introduced a new pre-debut girl group that included several members who previously competed in survival shows. In December 2024, the group, known as UDTT, released a pre-release single titled “Retry.”

However, on March 24, 2026, it was announced that Jung Sena would no longer be in the group, leaving them as four. In the next few days, it was announced that the group would be making their official debut, but with slight alterations to their plans. In the music video, a masked individual would fill in the role of a fifth member until a new one could be found.

SW Entertainment launched a search for a new fifth member on April 22, six days before their April 28 debut.

Amazingly, an unmasked fifth member was introduced for the group’s debut performance on MTV’s THE SHOW!

Jessica, also known as Lu Yutingwas officially introduced as the group’s newest member as a foreign exchange student, fitting in with their school concept. Jessica previously appeared on the survival shows Time Turner and Chuang Asia Thailand, and has previous experience as an idol.

The time between the debut stage and the audition notice is seven days, meaning Lu Yuting was seemingly quickly added within that time. The idol also shared that she had only begun practicing fifteen days before and apologized to fans for any mistakes she might have made.

Rinds, and today on the first broadcast, I made a few mistakes. I’m sorry! 🥺
Since I’m appearing as a new exchange student, I was really nervous.
It’s only been 15 days since I started practicing!ㅠ
I’ll make sure to show you a better performance on the next broadcast.
I’ll work hard. ❤️ I love you.

Whether it is a week or just over two, Jessica’s accomplishment is major! Congratulations to her and the other members of UDTT on their debut!
