Filipino Netizens Criticize Live Nation Due To Expensive Ticket Prices For TREASURE’s “Hello” Concert

The ticket prices were noticeably higher in the Philippines than in Indonesia and Singapore.

Filipino TREASURE MAKERs, TREASURE‘s official fandom, were excited when YG Entertainment announced that the 10-member group would visit the Philippines on their worldwide Hello concert tour on April 15, 2023.

Unfortunately, some fans were disappointed when Live Nation Entertainment was revealed to be organizing the event since the company has faced allegations of ticket price fixing and violation of health and safety laws. Some Filipino CARATs also described their experience at SEVENTEEN‘s Be The Sun concert in December 2022, also organized by Live Nation Entertainment, as “traumatizing.”

Further criticism of Live Nation Entertainment surfaced when TREASURE’s Hello concert prices in Manila were announced, and fans were shocked by how expensive they were. Tickets ranged from ₱3,500 PHP or about $64 USD for general admission to ₱19,500 PHP or about $356 USD for VIP sound check.

For comparison, the highest Hello concert ticket prices in Singapore and Indonesia were S$348 SGD or about $261 USD and Rp3,400,000 IDR or about $218 USD, respectively, a noticeable difference between the prices in the Philippines.

Netizens couldn’t understand how TREASURE’s concert was more expensive than the concerts of SEVENTEEN and BLACKPINK.

Others pointed out how many TREASURE MAKERs were students without income, making the tickets even more unattainable.

There have been no statements from YG Entertainment or Live Nation Entertainment regarding the adjustment of the ticket prices as of the writing of this article.
