Foreign Minister Of South Korea Praises BTS’s J-Hope At The 2019 Korea-ASEAN Summit

BTS‘s J-Hope received praise from the foreign minister of South Korea for being the only Korean soloist to top the Billboard charts.

His song “Chicken Noodle Soup” featuring Becky G was released on September 27 and ranked 81st on the Billboard Hot 100, and is on its 8th consecutive week after ranking 1st on the World Digitial Song Sales Chart. His song also ranked 3rd on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, making it the highest from a Korean act.

There are 11 K-Pop acts to top the charts: BIGBANG, EXO, BTS, MAMAMOO, Red Velvet, TWICE, NCT 127, BLACKPINK, TXT, SuperM, and J-Hope.

On the 27th, foreign minister Kang Kyung Hwa mentioned J-Hope’s solo sing at the 2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit in Busan, South Korea.

She praised the song as an example of how culture can be used as a platform to add value when combined with diverse industries.
