Former DIA’s Somyi Facing Prison Sentence For False Sexual Assault Allegations
Former DIA member Somyi is facing a prison sentence for falsely accusing her agency’s CEO of sexual assault.
A few days ago, media reports stated that an ex-idol-turned-BJ was put on trial on charges of false accusation. New reports on March 5, KST, confirmed the identity of the accused to be Somyi.
Somyi had filed a police report against her agency’s CEO, Mr. B, for attempted sexual assault in January last year. She claimed that she had pushed him and ran out of the office after the incident. However, the prosecution brought in CCTV footage that showed her walking out of the room where she was with “B” very calmly. She then went around inside the office and hugged the CEO.
The prosecution believed that Somyi had a motive to falsely accuse “B,” stating that she was trying to pressure the CEO to break up with the woman they were seeing at that time. The former idol, however, had denied this claim.
After leaving DIA, Somyi made a career shift to become an adult BJ (broadcasting jockey) on Panda TV. She had joined CEO B’s company that manages multiple BJs. An official from the company said that Somyi’s false accusation led to many of the BJs leaving the agency, causing significant financial loss.
In light of the evidence, the prosecution requested a one-year prison sentence for Somyi during the trial on February 27. The final hearing is scheduled for March 21, KST.
