Together with VR tech company PICO, (G)I-DLE held their first global VR live concert on December 31, allowing fans to watch and interact with the performances via virtual reality.

As expected, the group delivered praise-worthy performances. But while the members’ talent will always receive commendation, this time, it was a certain set of outfits that got Neverland’s attention… ones that took the “visible thong straps” trend to a whole new level.

The trend became increasingly popular in K-Pop throughout 2022, with high-profile idols such as BLACKPINK‘s Jennie, TWICE‘s Nayeon, and MAMAMOO‘s Solar taking part.

LE SSERAFIM‘s Sakura and Yunjin also made their own worthy contributions…

The trend may not be anything new at this point, but Minnie’s take on it at the PICO VR concert truly made a splash. And it may be due to the fact they wore it with the lowest of low-rise bottoms.

It’s safe to say fans were left completely shook—in the best way.

Though still, people were not okay.

Of course, Minnie was not alone in this, as Soyeon, Miyeon, and Yuqi also gained attention for their daring “visible thong straps” look.

While some fans raised valid concerns about the members’ potentially being made uncomfortable by their outfits, others pointed out that Minnie did not seem bothered by hers, and if she were, she probably wouldn’t have worn it.

After all, Yuqi has stated before that “girls dress for themselves and that viewing such clothes in only a negative light is a prejudiced perspective.

(G)I-DLE are always pushing the boundaries of what they can do as artists and inspiring healthy positivity in every way they can. And they definitely look good while they’re at it!
