Girl Group Idol Misses Out On Featuring In PSY’s “Gangnam Style”

A girl group idol revealed a behind-the-scenes story about PSY’s Gangnam Style, mentioning how she was supposed to feature in the song.

On the 27th, the YouTube channel Reformation Seo In Young released a video titled “Momo, Seo In Young’s lifelong best friend of 25 years, reveals everything for the first time.”

The video showed former Jewelry member Seo In Young attending a YouTube Fan Fest, meeting with creators and fans.

When asked about her album plans, Seo In Young explained, “Now, singers only release albums when they have money. I don’t take the stage lightly, so each performance costs around ₩20.0 million KRW (about $13,300 USD).

Asked which producer she worked with best, Seo In Young answered, “That would be PSY. Our recordings usually finished within 20 minutes. He really appreciated my voice.”

Seo In Young also shared a story related to PSY’s global hit “Gangnam Style.” She revealed, “Originally, I was supposed to do it, but I didn’t. The rap part at the beginning was my part,” referring to the lyric “A lady who is warm and human during the day.”

She said, “I was the female version. Now I can say it. I didn’t before because I thought it would seem like I was exaggerating. I made a mistake. Just try asking me now—I’ll do it right away,” while performing the iconic “Gangnam Style” horse-riding dance, bringing smiles to the audience.
