Ringing in the new year, Hyeri sat down with psychiatrist Dr. Lee Kwang Min to undergo a temperament and character inventory (TCI) test. Noting she had “grown curious about herself and how her personality might have changed over the past three years,” the idol-actress asked, “What kind of mindset am I living with right now?”

The test, however, ultimately revealed some alarming aspects of Hyeri’s current mental state.

After reviewing the results, Dr. Lee explained that Hyeri has a rare personality type. The idol scored very high in autonomy, self-esteem, responsibility, and competence, but showed almost no tendency toward reliance or emotional bonding with others—with Dr. Lee pointing out that Hyeri fundamentally believes she must be the one for others to rely on.

At this, Hyeri became teary-eyed, admitting that she had barely taken any real breaks over the past one to two years. She said what kept her going was the love and support from her fans, which she found both surprising and deeply moving. Even during fan meetings, she explained, her body feels completely exhausted—so much so that she feels like she might collapse—but mentally, she keeps going because of the immense encouragement she receives from fans.

Dr. Lee expressed concern about the idol, noting that her energy levels were severely depleted and that she was constantly in a state of tension. He described her condition as “running on a battery that was only about half full.”

Hyeri agreed, saying she had become noticeably more sluggish. Although she is normally tidy and organized, she now finds herself unable to clean, even when she has free time. When she talked about how she simply lacks the emotional capacity these days, Dr. Lee pointed out that she seemed to have no dedicated time set aside purely for rest.

Now that she’s more aware of her issues, will Hyeri be able to help herself heal in 2026? Her fans most certainly hope so.
