Channel A‘s My Golden Kids is a Korean reality show about parents seeking counseling. Episode 169 has gone viral recently.
It is a customized parenting solution variety entertainment program where veteran parenting experts gather to reflect the current parenting trends to parents and help parents who don’t know what to do with their children.

In the clip, a 4-year-old boy, Eo Joon (nicknamed Geum Ji Eun by the internet and Geum JJok I on the show), was interviewed regarding his relationship with his parents. He was asked which parent he liked most, to which he honestly replied, “I don’t know,” confessing that he is often left alone.
This comment made his mom, who was watching the footage, tear up. He was also depicted as playing by himself.
Geum Ji Eun was also asked about his dad, and he said that his father is “scary when mad.” He hoped his dad would call him nicely, making the parents tear up.
Likewise, Geum Ji Eun said that he believed his mother didn’t like him. He began to cry, and he stopped himself.
This week, this clip has gained attention on social media, beginning on video-sharing app TikTok. One account’s clip on TikTok garnered 25.3M views at the time of writing!

Another clip showed the mother talking harshly to the little boy as he colored. She discouraged him from pursuing art and focusing on his studies, although he is only four.

These viral clips have netizens outraged that parents could have made their young child feel so unloved. His maturity shocked them as he explained his feelings and attempted to control them.
Many content creators have also voiced their opinions on the matter, posting rants regarding the viral clip. Netizens have expressed anger at the parents for irresponsibly having a kid and not caring for him, only to cry when they are exposed for mistreating the son.

The viral clip was reposted on X (formerly Twitter), garnering 10.4M views at the time of writing. User @altairkyeonu curiously watched the entire episode, which has no English subtitles, and explained the whole story. Initially, the parents went on the show due to the son’s alleged anger issues that surfaced after they had their second child, a daughter.
