Gong Yoo Confesses He Felt Completely Exhausted After Filming His Hit Drama “Goblin”

He confessed his honest feelings.

Gong Yoo recently sat down for an interview where he opened up honestly about his mega-hit drama series, Goblin. Gong Yoo named Goblin as his “life’s work” and even claimed he’d love to star in the drama again for a 2nd season.

But it appears with all the success and hard work came with a price. Gong Yoo confessed that he felt completely exhausted after finishing Goblin. He was anxious to find time for himself as he was finishing his final promotions for the drama.

I think I was completely exhausted after filming Goblin. I felt a lot of different emotions after Goblin. I realized then, ‘I’m exhausted.’

After finishing my promotions abroad, I took time off just for myself.

As soon as Goblin ended, Gong Yoo took time off to reflect, heal, and reward himself. He believes the time off gave him the strength to get right back into work and choose his next project

I needed time to reflect and heal, and more so, just time to reward myself. And that’s exactly what I did.

I re-energized myself during that time and I was able to carefully choose my next project thanks to it.

After nearly 2 years of rest, Gong Yoo finally took on his next role for “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982”. There, he plays the role of Kim Ji Young’s husband. The story is about the life of a fictional character, named Kim Ji Young, and the sexism she suffers since her youth.

Now that Gong Yoo is well rested, fans can look forward to more Goblin-like masterpieces ahead!
