GOT7’s BamBam Credits Popular Female Idol For Helping Him Get Out Of A Slump

In a recent YouTube appearance, GOT7 member BamBam talked about how a popular third-generation idol had helped him immensely during a period when he was struggling mentally.

The female idol in question is no other than Jihyo, the leader of TWICE.

On July 15, KST, TWICE’s official YouTube channel posted a video celebrating Jihyo’s 20 years at JYP Entertainment. The celebration, themed as a “twenty-idol” party, was attended by Jihyo’s close friends, including TWICE members Nayeon and Heongyeon, GOT7’s BamBam, SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu and Seungkwan, and former I.O.I‘s Sejeong and Nayoung.

In the video, BamBam shared a heartwarming anecdote involving Jihyo that he said lifted him out of a difficult time.

Since both idols were under JYP Entertainment for a long time, they naturally developed a close friendship. However, BamBam recalled that around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, they fell out of touch for a while. When they reconnected again one random day, Jihyo texted him asking, “How have you been?” BamBam responded honestly, revealing that he was having a hard time.

Jihyo immediately called him over to her house to treat him to a home-cooked meal. BamBam, moved by her gesture, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I live alone, right? No parents around either. She said, ‘Maybe it’s because you haven’t had a home-cooked meal.”

The TWICE member ended up making grilled fish for BamBam, and even fed him the chicken feet that she had set aside in the fridge for herself. Jihyo quipped, saying that she only shared chicken feet with people she considered extremely dear to her.

BamBam continued, recalling how, after that meal and a conversation with Jihyo, he felt so much better that he started mentally preparing to get back up.
